Nothing but the chorus
Imagine your favorite song, but strip away the intro, verses, bridge, and outro. What you have left is the chorus playing over and over and over. While it might be catchy, stirring, even musically brilliant, without the contrast and variation of other parts of the song, this all-chorus version of your favorite song falls flat. That's the best description of this podcast I can come up with. The sound design is beautiful. The voice actors are talented. The concept is fascinating and plot points are interesting. Unfortunately, the pacing is entirely too one-note and repetitive--like a song that is all chorus. Every episode is a life-or-death race against the (literal) clock with a double helping of emotional baggage driving characters to extremes. The narrative is compelling enough to keep you listening. But I cant help but wonder how great this pod would be if the suspense and emotional drama/trauma weren't cranked up to 11 all the time.Read full review »

Amazing first episode! Great production value, the voice acting is on point and the sounds/music is excellent too. The story certainly starts off interesting, and I really hope we see more episodes soon!

Glad that Derelict has come back as a prequel. The first episode has me hooked and can’t wait to see (hear) where it goes.
