Thanks for all the hard work on this podcast! This is high quality and listeners can tell a lot of effort and research goes into each episode. Excellent job, and the content of the episodes is interesting and always teaches me something new. Would love to see a future episode about women in STEM!

Amazed at how much you fit into each episode - it’s a deep dive on interesting energy topics without being overwhelming. Recommend this for anyone looking for a jump into understanding the energy landscape.

Took an unfortunate turn under the new administration, which still has yet to right.

I listen to podcasts every day, and none sounds as good as this one. The audio is impeccable. The content is even more impressive -- I'm consistently amazed by the quality of work, diversity of interviews and topics, and depth of understanding this team shows. Proof positive that podcasts...Read full review »

I am encouraged to see the possibilities to turn problems into solutions. My tax dollars are well spent when the labs do this research. I know that corporations will never fund this type of research with their short term quarterly earnings approach to investing. The earth has massive carrying...Read full review »

After a pretty cheesy first season with plenty of samples and quirky humor, I truly believe this show has found it’s stride. The topics are very interesting, and they do a great job of going into the perfect depth with the topic. It is interesting to see the topics change from renewable energy...Read full review »

This is a smart, very well produced podcast that explains complex, cutting edge scientific research and work in real life terms. Great job by the DOE team and a flagship government podcast.

Well-produced, funny and engaging. Not only for energy experts, but still interesting for those that know a little more.

no more whispering! Wonderful content, very interesting, well presented. I would have given it 5 stars, but the hosts seem to think its charming to whisper in someone's ear, its like nails on a chalkboard. (One episode I couldn't listen to at all)Read full review »

This podcast is so well-done! Great technical subject matter conveyed in a fun, entertaining way. The hosts do a terrific job bringing personality to the story, which is extremely well-written to bring each topic to life. It's a fun, educational listen every time!Read full review »

It's got to be the weirdest job in the world to popularize the ideas of (push the agenda of?) a departmental-level federal agency... through a podcast. All things considered, this is a LOT less terrible than it otherwise could have been. In fact, it's really quite palatable. I mean, all...Read full review »

DOE is a great and important science agency. The Direct Current team tells that story really well. My favorite character is DJ Paul Lester.

I enjoyed season 1. So far, very disappointed with topics in season 2. Seems like we are going back to last century. I think the topics should be about 21st century! Let's talk carbon free energy. Wind, Solar, storage, microgrids, distributed generation, consumer choice, prosumers!Read full review »

This is a great podcast and really does a good job explaining energy issues in a way that is accessible to people without a technical background while not causing those of us who work in the energy industry from cringing because someone confuses energy and power.

The episode on the solution to acid rain and the parallels to climate change was a great and moving episode. It also came out just when their budget for solving this problem is likely to be drastically cut. I hope the podcast (and more importantly the DoE) comes back.

I am an energy Nerd but this podcast is a welcomed treat for myself. But also is approachable that my mom listens along whenever we are on a road Trip! Keep up the great work!

Thoroughly enjoyable and fascinating show about energy, science, history and a bunch of other stuff (burritos!). Good production value, to boot. Worth listening to if you love Planet Money, Radiolab, 99% Invisible or any show that mixes science with storytelling.

Very fun, quirky podcast. The silly asides remind me a bit of Bill Nye The Science Guy. It's really interesting to hear more about energy in our country from the people working on these projects. Like all the other reviewers: Not what you would expect from a government agency. The producers know what podcasting is. The humor in episode 1 satirizing other podcasts super funny. I hope they’ll imitate The Secret Room sometime! I’m subscribed. A great listen.
