“I usually don’t like 100% scripted shows. So many of them just feel like a 4th grader reading their book report. For those short of shoes, though the information is compelling, the delivery kind of messes it up. Not this show, dude. It reads for sure, but it reads like beat poetry. Whoever writes the scripts for this show is a true poet, and Jake Brennan knows exactly the right tone to deliver every word. But it’s more than just his tone. He emotes a sort of fundamental understanding of the hearts of the people he’s describing. Seriously, this show is as much art as it is pop history. Just fantastic stuff. It took me about three episodes to notice the wider patterns and really get hooked, though, so I highly suggest you give it more than just a single episode. Though a single sode could easily be all it takes. Like I said, I don’t usually like completely scripted shows.”
