I was very saddened by this podcast. As a doula myself, it was painful to hear the judgemental tones in the hosts voices, the negativity, and all of the commentary about ProDoula being superior to other doula training organizations. This podcast would make me weary to have a ProDoula doula at my birth. Rather that speaking about doula work being a work of compassion for women, they make it about money only. There is a way to do both successfully and still build up women, and unfortunately they do not do this. I do believe I have learned small nuggets of wisdom, but it comes with me cringing the other 95% of the episodes. If I found out this is how my doula spoke about her work I wouldn’t want to hire her. We can do better, doulas. Our clients deserve it.

Love this podcast!!!!!! The first time I’ve heard a balance between natural, birth advocacy and not demonizing all healthcare providers! It’s time we had a more balanced perspective of supporting birthing families. Rock on!

As a brand new doula, I’m looking for any information I can get about life as a doula. This podcast has been helpful.
