I have brain cancer, with both a neurosurgeon and an oncologist! Both seasons hit a little close to home. This is absolutely sickening compared to skilled ethical caring Doctors out there. Narcissistic ego and-greed run amuck at the tragic cost to the patients.devastating stories.

I thought both seasons were interesting and also mind boggling at the same time. I really thought it was a great idea to do another episode with Jerry and also the interview about how we can still trust our medical system. I love that they clarified this podcast is not representative of ALL...Read full review »

Sooooo many commercials. Not sure how it has an average of 4.5 stars- the interviews are choppy and the development/ level of depth is disappointing. Overall a waste of time. Half the season is “follow up” which just means adds.

This podcast lacks the material to sustain a full new series. The first 3 episodes are strong (as you’d expect from this team!) but then is followed by episodes that can only be described as fluff - including retrospectives to the previous series, and unnecessary interviews that feel like filler...Read full review »

Well done, super fascinating! If only the host would speak at a normal tempo, it’d be an even better listen! Her narrative is often painfully slow (“I....V....I....G....”) and because everyone else is speaking normally, speeding up the podcast doesn’t help.

Laura Beil is so amazing, when I find shes doing the narrating..im there! She an absolute addiction. Very smooth and grips you

Wondery Team only produce wonders. Once you listen the first words you get enchanted with their story telling skills.....marvellous work, as always!!!

So well written and presented, so worrying how people in positions of trust can abuse their power.

First four episodes were good. Then the episodes change format and it’s not as interesting.

I listened to season 2 and felt like they had to meet a deadline and left so much information unreported. What happened at the trial? What was the outcome? Did they try to interview Dr. Fata? What about the wife? Were his colleagues and hospital reprimanded for not alerting the public or the...Read full review »

I found Wondery and listened to the dirty John podcast, quite a while back. I thought that was fabulous. I guess I was too hooked on forensic files and dateline that I hadn’t expanded my podcast listening . I had seen a program on Dr. Duntsch’s story. I started listening on Wondery and I was...Read full review »

Farid Fata is more than worthy of the investigative lens (and your ire), as season 1’s subject. But while the story is fascinating, the research and reporting feel lackluster, only skimming the surface of Fata’s empire, deceit, and journey into darkness. For a story so rich in material, the...Read full review »

Not a full season at all. Really just a few episodes about a new story followed with interviews or season 1 updates. Also, ads are too common and misplaced, and they tend to interrupt the story to play them.

Season 2 was not as in depth as season 1. One of the things that was fascinating about season 1 was hearing about Dr. Dunch’s childhood and learning about is personality and how that evolved over his life. Season two is lacking in that regard. A more detailed picture could have been painted. ...Read full review »

Season 1 was able to paint a visual picture of each scene, had logical transitions in the story, had a thorough review with details of the background of the Doctor, and did not stretch out the story for extra episodes. Season 2 lacked all of this. In addition, season 2 was choked full of...Read full review »

This show is so good - both season 1 and season 2 but my gosh, how many commercials can you squeeze into each short episode!? It must take up 1/3 of the show! So disruptive to the storyline and honestly makes the podcaster seem money hungry

Season 1 was really compelling and stayed with me. Now, 1 episode into s2 and I already know it’s going to be equally horrible and so good!

Was really good at first and then just turns into interviews and gives updates about season 1. Not really a whole new season

This podcast is riveting. I remember when this case first broke, and it still haunts me. Dr. Fata was my grandfather’s doctor back in 2010 when he was diagnosed pancreatic cancer. I noticed lots of reviews rating season two poorly, but I can’t agree. I think this is an incredibly important podcast for Americans to be listening to right now with our health system in the condition it is in. Wondery really rushed this season to capitolize on the success of season 1. Absolutely no character development. Despite completing the full series I still dont know much about Dr Fata or his history. Enjoyed season 1 and dirty john but was very disappointed by Season 2

The flawed hospital system with reporting and investigations would be a better podcast in itself. The real question and investigating should have been geared toward the hospitals and administration that allowed this to continue.

Second season was a bust! Could have been told in 2 episodes, but dragged it out with boring filler. Didn’t seem like they made an effort to talk to anyone?

Get a second opinion. Must of those patients will be here or better off if they got a second opinion. Most of the insurances cover that.

The podcast would be great without all of the commercials spliced into it. I understand the need for sponsers but those should go at the beginning and the end of the podcast not during.

Loved this podcast. Great host and incredible story. A great depiction of how bad someone’s “God Complex” can be; in the end however, it all comes crashing down. Sadly, at the expense of innocent people’s health and lives.

I was shocked when season ends after 6 episodes. This story on Dr Fata is so interesting but this telling is not good. “Episodes” 5 and 6 should have been called bonus episodes since that’s what they were. Annoying to expect more of an interesting story and just get tangentially related interviews. Don’t mislead your listeners to get downloads.

Ugh
Was very interested and intrigued by the beginning episodes but the last 2 (interview ones) have been painfully boring. I gave up forcing myself to listen during this last one. Disappointed it has gone downhill.

I enjoyed the first season of doctor death, the second one was ok. I decided to write a review after listening to the most recent episode.
