Description
Clare Asiimwe is one of Uganda's celebrated fashion designers and her story had always been a mystery until I sat with her. Her official journey into the fashion industry is one about a girl who felt livened when she landed on an opportunity to join fashion school even when she did not know where she would get the tuition.
In this conversation, Clare and I discuss topics such as:
Her background
Her influences and inspiration
Her Breakthrough
The people who held out their hands to get her to where she is as a designer
Challenges in the fashion industry
Imposter Syndrome
Setting boundaries as an entrepreneur
This episode is a show of honor to all the people who said YES to her when she was starting out and if you hear any name of the person that you know, please do give them a shout out. They say it is always better to give people their flowers while they are alive.
