“I've listened to this podcast for over a year and have found it really lovely, meaningful, and helpful. Now that its off-shoot, Self-Care Club, has launched, though, it doesn't seem like there's such a clear future for Dream Freedom Beauty.
I've listened to SCC and enjoy it when there's a guest I connect with. It's too much content for me personally (I simply can't keep up with 3 episodes a week) and I feel pretty established in my own self-care practices, so I'd prefer to stick to the weekly, interview-based DFB.
However the past few episodes of DFB have felt like pretty aggressive commercials for SCC. I was moved to fast-forward several times during the recent March energy report, and I even turned it off entirely at one point. It absolutely makes sense to advertise the newer podcast, but when it's at multiple intervals and takes over the conversation -- and the focus away from the invited guest -- it becomes challenging to engage with.
It feels like Natalie's heart is no longer with DFB in the same way. If that's the case, it's sad but understandable. But if so, it'd be better if DFB were allowed to come to a graceful conclusion, rather than treated like an afterthought.”Read full review »
