Clutching at straws
I can understand how sad it is to loose a family member but unfortunately there is nothing criminal to see here. The police have done everything they can to investigate and understandably the families want proper closer which is more of an admission issue. Unfortunately, like our hospitals and aged care homes, there just aren’t enough people on the ground to help. Added to this, there seems to be a lot of alcohol and elicit drug abuse in these episode which means police are less likely to take this seriously. If the indigenous community want to be taken seriously they are going to have clean up their act. They need to stop living in the past and stop feeling victimised. You have to take ownership of your own lives. We all have difficult and complex histories. It’s about time they turned their gaze to the future.

15mins in I had to stop. I’m sick to DEATH of ‘The Victim’ mentality! If you lot want people to empathise with you I suggest you drop that card. What you describe happens to other races as well. Not just yours!

The reporting and story telling is well done in a way that only an insider from the community can accomplish. So important to have these tragedies investigated and have questions asked that the authorities have ignored. Appreciate the voices being raised through this podcast.
