Somehow I managed to pocket dial a one start review a few years ago. I discovered this while digging into the “my account” info on my phone. It showed me my reviews, I saw a no comment one star review and I was horrified, I love this show!! Keep up the great and twisty work!

If you are interested in old text games, this is a must.

Not a bad podcast, but for God’s sake lose that stupid f-ing intro song. I can tolerate most things, but I almost turned off the podcast when I heard that nonsense. I don’t know why that is so popular amongst the IF community. That said, the podcast itself was decent. The one on Zork I actually...Read full review »

There is a special kind of magic when Carrington and Kay sit down to talk about Infocom games. I intently wait for each new podcast. The way they artfully discuss each title while their playful banter amuses the audience is truly a remarkable thing. It makes me wish to go to Kansasfest just for...Read full review »

You listen to several episodes and feel a deep sense of nostalgia for these games you played so many years ago. You’re also entertained and amused by the affable hosts, and impressed that they actually played and podcasted about every single Infocom game! Score: 5/5

I guess listening to a podcast about old games without also hearing hateful politics was too much to hope for.

What are you doing reading the reviews!? If you’re at all interested in Infocom or text adventures/ interactive fiction at all you will love this podcast. Excellent hosts, litany of content, A+

My love for the nostalgia of the subject matter is good for about 30 min worth of attention, but I could (and do) listen to these friends talk for hours. Such fun!

Fantastic podcast. Huge recommendation to anyone with even a passing interest in interactive fiction or retro gaming. The hosts have a great chemistry and obvious love for the genre if not every single game they play. Only downside is the often very large wait between episodes. Good sized back...Read full review »

Can I be honest here? I often listen to podcasts because they lull me to sleep. In fact, I’ve never bothered to give a review because I’m almost certain people don’t want to hear: “I give it four snores!” I had no such luck here. The podcasters explore the magic bits of a heartwarming gaming...Read full review »

Carrington is such a Negative Nancy. It feels as if he has no desire to play the games or discuss them. Based on Kay, i would give it 5 stars but Carrington kills the the discussion.

Lovely hosts and format. Really enjoyed the three-year nostalgia journey. Even when I disagreed with a particular take (which was rare), I still respected how they got there. Appreciate the earnest enthusiasm and the buddies-hanging-out chemistry of the hosts, too. A+

If you grew up playing Infocom games in the 80’s (or any text-based adventure game), you’ll really love this show. It’s not a dry game review show. They give you tidbits of history, interesting stories about the developers, and esoteric bits of Infocom-related trivia. Additionally, you get to...Read full review »

As someone who’s interested in IF, but wasn’t around during its hay day in the 80s, being able to hear a modern podcast that goes through Infocom games is a blast! I love hearing about the plot and pitfalls, as well as insights from when the hosts had played the games when they were young. A...Read full review »

I'm an ol' Infocom fan from the 1980s I have so many fond memories from hours (days, weels) playing Enchanter, Spellbreaker, Starcross, and a host of other games. Eaten by a Grue gives me an opportunity to relive those memories and listen to their discussions about the Infocom titles I...Read full review »

What a great job these gentlemen do discussing classic games I have spent countless hours playing. A truly in-depth and honest look at some very difficult to navigate adventures. They are very respectful of spoilers as well. Great show!

I would listen to Carrington Vanston and Kevin Savetz discuss the consistency of squirrel droppings for 45 minutes to an hour every week! New listener and loving the podcast. Going to start playing along with the guys! I have original copies of many of the early games, and Lost Treasures as well! This is a well-produced, well-paced, intelligent and entertaining podcast. I've played a few Infocom games in the past, but barely scratched the surface of them. As a fan of retrocomputing, Inform games, and having played these games back in the day, I love the Eaten by a Grue podcast. Carrington and Kevin are fun to listen to, period. For this podcast, they had me at "Infocom". I wondered how an interactive...Read full review »

Super smashing great podcast. I love the old text adventures from back in the day. I used to play the Discworld MUD in college in the late 90's. This podcast sparked my imagination again to play along, draw my own maps and have my brain tested once more. IF FTWRead full review »
