Great content; needs better sound engineering
This is a wonderful podcast on silence and contemplation. It has very wise and thought-provoking guests. Although the background of the hosts seems to be Catholic Christian, the podcast itself crosses boundaries of faith and denomination to explore the basic human need we all have (even if we ignore it) for silence to encounter something beyond ourselves. I am often disappointed, though, that the sound quality is so uneven. Listening to a recent interview with Cynthia Bourgeault, I could barely hear her and would turn the volume up on my speaker to catch what she was saying. Then suddenly Kevin Johnson would ask a question and his voice would blast out of the speaker forcing me to turn the volume way down. It was very frustrating having to constantly have a hand on the volume control. I recognize that this podcast is often recorded from a video platform (even before Covid-19), but other podcasts are also recorded this way without the resulting huge variance in voice levels. It would really benfit from some post-interview sound engineering.

More reviews of Encountering Silence
About halfway through the episode I listened to was about 20 seconds of silence. That’s only 0.6%. Where can I find a podcast with at least two minutes of silence?

This podcast is the show I have been waiting for. As a poet oriented towards a comtemplative path of life, Encountering Silence has enriched my weeks. Kevin, Carl, and Cassidy are wise hosts and their love of silence as presense pours out and into the lister. Thank you!
