Listen now
Description
In this episode Millie chats to Kristie Amadio. Kristie is the founder of Recovered Living NZ; New Zealand’s first charitable residential eating disorder treatment centre. With a 14 year history of an eating disorder, Kristie sought treatment in three different countries before finding recovery in residential treatment in California.  This experience led her to opening a charitable residential treatment centre so that others could get the help they deserved, without having to fly to the other side of the world. Kristie is a qualified counsellor in Australia and New Zealand and a certified Eating Disorder Recovery Coach. She has a rich history of being an elite athlete, an outdoor instructor and has helped individuals all over the world in their recovery journeys.  They discuss her own eating disorder recovery journey, Body Dysmorphia, the importance of taking a holistic approach to eating disorder treatment and the development of Recovered Living NZ.
