“2/22/2024 - What is bugging me is that Wondery has moved to a sneaky model across nearly all of their podcasts. Releasing several episodes of a series and putting the final episode behind a pay wall. I very much understand having special episodes behind a pay wall or even most of your episodes behind a paywall.
But to release each episode for free and when the final comes out and it's behind a paywall is like loaning a book to a friend and purposefully tearing out the last chapter without telling them in advance that you want them to pay for it. It's sneaky, kinda bait and switch. They have also doubled the number of ads per episode, which to me is no big deal. But the other thing, is a big deal for me.
I'm still listening to Wondery podcasts but not sure for how much longer as I don't really trust them anymore to not tear out that last page.
