Ep. 20 - High Dose VItamin C: A Promising Cancer Treatment
Description
I'm sure you've heard of vitamin C being used for the common cold or flu, but have you ever heard of vitamin C being used for cancer? I hadn't heard of this either until we found out my grandfather's cancer had come back, quite some years ago. The two most common cancer treatments today are chemotherapy and radiation. Immunotherapy is slowly becoming more and more popular as well. But not many people know of high dose vitamin C as an alternative option.
High dose vitamin C, or intravenous vitamin C (IVC) has been studied for decades. Originally, researchers thought the pro-oxidative properties of vitamin C were too dangerous to warrant it as a cancer treatment. However, more recent studies have shown that IVC is only toxic to cancer cells, and is perfectly safe for normal healthy cells. This is great news! IVC works because it creates H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) in the body. Check out the full episode to learn more on how this promising treatment works to fight cancer.
