I like how diving into the perspective of a lifeless object can reveal truths about humanity. I’ve listened to 5 episodes; grain of sand is the best so far. Does Ira Glass know his interview style has been borrowed for this podcast?

I just love it!

Not every episode is amazing but when an episode hits it HITS, I’m talking about Vinny the vending machine…

The final line of the latest episode, interviewing Louis the can of cola, is probably one of the darkest, most harrowing things I’ve ever heard… And yet, I wish I could listen to it for the first time all over again.

Probably my favorite podcast of all time. I am sure it is time-consuming to make these, I am constantly checking for new episodes! Can’t get enough.

So good.

The most amazing thing about this amazing podcast is that the episodes are unscripted. If the various actors were working from scripts, it would be impressive enough, but that they're producing brilliant comedy while ad-libbing is really mind-blowing. There are episodes that made me laugh...Read full review »

Funny, poignant, thought provoking, beautifully produced, concise. Each episode a little gem. Pathos in spades. I am just so happy this show exists.

Though I am not an animist, this podcast helped me to better see the world through the eyes of one. These episodes are really clever in anthromorphizing many everyday objects and animals. The voices are fun, realistic and lively. The pride and complaints regarding their use are thought-provoking,...Read full review »

I do not know if it’s just my weird sense of humor but I have never read, listened to, or watched anything funnier than this podcast. Every time I listen I cannot stop laughing. Sometimes I also cry. Either there is something wrong with me or this is the most brilliant piece of radio ever created.

I love this idea and giving personality to inanimate objects, beautifully done

I cannot count the amount of times I’ve giggled during these episodes. So random. So funny. So educational. So good!

This is an incredible, creative podcast—surreal in concept but 100% sincere in execution.

I almost stopped listening because of the cola episode, for some reason it made me extremely uncomfortable, but I listened to the next one and the next and the next, and here I am now

I’m surprised by how fun I find this podcast. I love how seriously you take the personification of these animal characters. Great idea! Well done!

So cute and cheeky and I leave every episode with a little factoid or two

Of all the podcasts, this is my favourite. Poignant, absurdist, and hilarious. It treats its conceit with perfect sincerity and, if it really is unscripted, a masterpiece of editing. Thank you all for making this 💛

I really enjoy this unique podcast, it makes you think, it makes you laugh, it makes you look at objects in a new way. Hope this one continues for a long time! So happy this is back for a season on animals!! Hooray!!

I normally LOVE this podcast but as an Australian I was appalled by the accents of your performers in the kangaroo episode. Surely you must know some Australians living in the US who could have voiced these guys? Also an Australian would say “bum bag” not a “fanny bag” as, down under, a fanny...Read full review »

This podcast it’s a true delight. The combination of dry obscure humor, with bits of knowledge sprinkled in is an absolute triumph. I adore every single episode.

I started listening to this podcast right after they first started. It was like I’d found something I didn’t even know I wanted. No hyperbole. It offers a concept like no other podcast. Listen to any episode and you’ll see what I mean. And it’s intelligent.

Truly a great show, but the number of ads is so obnoxious. I’ve unsubscribed from all radiotopia shows. I keep trying to come back but I can’t. It’s not just the number of ads but the number of interruptions and the lack of audio-identifiers for ad segments.

I finally gave this show a chance mainly because of the many positive reviews I read prior to listening, so I thought it was only right to add my own positive review to the stack. I believe in equality, so when I came across a show where pillows and chainsaws were given a safe space to tell their stories, I had to listen. This is by far the best podcast out there! Thanks, Ian, for opening our eyes to the lives of the objects around us!

This may be the best written and acted podcast available. It’s witty, self-deprecating and provocative. I can share episodes with my grandchildren or just ingest as an antidote to unpleasant news. I highly recommend the (so meta) Behind the Scenes. So silly and at the same time, nuanced.

Everything Is Alive is so good. Every episode makes me either smile or cry. Sometimes both at once. They are lovely tone poems that explore the “thing’s” feelings and also ours. Thus the laughter and the tears. Well done, folks.
