Excessively expanding
At the risk of sounding like an extreme individual, I have been undergoing a marathon of Expanding Mind Podcast episodes (which amounts to over 100 hours of listening) and want to express how wonderful this programme is. Every episode, whether I am familiar with the subject or not, makes me want to delve deeper. I am interested in it all, particularly the esoteric traditions, entheogens, and other states of consciousness, and expanding awareness. The real gem, beyond the fascinating people being interviewed, is Erik Davis' coherent commentary and participation in the conversation... and the goal of this podcast is to create a dialogue as opposed to an interview. I appreciate his vast knowledge and ability to connect it all, particularly since I have the memory capacity of a fruit fly (for certain types of knowledge). His relevant discourse on such a wide variety of topics is impressive. Despite being a guy who is knowledgeable and interested by many things, Expanding Minds does make me feel that I have but dipped my toe in the ocean. Erik is an inspirational searcher. Since becoming an excessive listener of podcasts, I am truly grateful for alternative media. I live in a rural part of Canada and the opportunities for expanding consciousness activities seemed quite limited. While they may not be equivalent to California, they are certainly far greater than I had thought. It seems that the more I listen and learn about the various subjects, the more I become aware of their presence in my own environment.Read full review »

I've been listening to Expanding Mind for a few years now and not only check out most of the new episodes but enjoy digging around in the archives too. Erik definitely is in his element here - he has a thorough knowledge of esoterica/tech/entheogens/etc to engage with his guests'...Read full review »
