Imposter syndrome
Upon listening to this I though of an exercise I did with a therapist months ago. I suffered from “I don’t matter”. she had me repeat 10x’s 3 times a day “I have value and great worth and I matter a great deal”. Now I thought this was ridiculous at the time and felt silly saying it, and yet these thoughts no longer served me so I was ready to give this a try. I did it and after 3 days I was seeing where I mattered everywhere! My brain was looking for evidence of what I was saying. She explained it as carving a new neural pathway. “I don’t matter” didn’t go away but I am able to see the evidence of how I do matter when that comes up. Great conversations! I just found you two so thank you for sharing all the issues that come up and letting us know we are not alone in our thinking.
