The voice acting is my chief complaint
This podcast is well researched and constructed. For the most part does not over dramatize past events. However, my chief complaint is the voice acting of the primary sources. The voice acting is over done and distracting not to mention that it puts a modern voice onto past peoples. Besides being irritating it is also a bad historical practice. You should not over interpret the tone of historical sources by putting them in the hands of overzealous voice actors. Reading sources flatly or with restrained inflection would be enough as we can only guess what tone or inflection these past peoples intended their writings to have.

Love this podcast. Good history podcasts are few and far between without the American bravado/overdramatisation. Great stuff 👍👍👍
