Akilah is moving me forward in so many ways. I came across the podcast after looking up unschooling as I questioned the education system my kids are being raised in. This podcast takes you so much further than the simple removal of kids from school. Becoming aware of ‘schoolishness’ in yourself...Read full review »

I found this podcast through a rabbit hole of podcasts and book searching! I’ve been researching self-directed learning and unschooling for about a year and I’m so so excited to add this podcast to my regular listens. I often stop what I’m doing to jot down insights as I listen! xxoo

I was recommended to listen to this podcast by my black studies prof. There’s such generative conventions and discourses here minus the judgment. From Grandma to the youth on the podcast, the conversations are rich and authentic. I’m going to buy the book to show support to a podcast that has...Read full review »

This is a really good show for people interested in learning more about unschooling and homeschooling from a black perspective. The host is engaging. Her attempt at using African American slang however is annoying and sometimes offensive.

My husband and I have been Unschooling and Unlearning since 2008.
