Truman discovers Brighton’s dictation on the audio recording mobile, reminding himself to inform Legano he won’t be a partner in his “phony money” schemes. Mark admits Alexa Silven is a person of interest in the gallery crimes. With renewed interest, Sandy Fuller rushes the damaged laptop to her Austin tech team early the next morning. Truman is awakened by a call from Silven, inviting him to a meeting on how to best memorialize Stoney Brighton.

Gother grabs a ride share from the pub while Truman and Fuller leave together, moments later. As headlights linger at the end of their street, they discuss concerns about the new partnership and walk to their apartment. Inside their stakeout, Fuller checks the surveillance video, which recorded Silven tossing the laptop from her business studio balcony. Gother convinces Officer Fuller to take the damaged laptop to her computer tech connections in Austin to retrieve any possible stored data. He assigns Truman the job of finding out where Silven disappeared during the opening events of the art museum, though she had been escorted there by Stoney Brighton.

Gother convinces Truman to accompany him to Brighton Enterprises Business Complex where they enter the lobby at closing time. They are greeted by Officer Sandy Fuller, who retrieves Gother’s claimed laptop. Gother surprises Truman and Fuller by inviting them to O’Henley’s Pub where he sells them on the idea of joining forces for a new PI team.

Harold Burley storms into the editor’s office, who informs him he is demoted from his position as senior reporter and all stories are up for grabs. In Truman’s retouching room, Gother is viewing Truman’s photos from the gallery fiasco and becomes suspicious Truman has secret investigative skills. Burley suddenly barges in and tries to destroy photos with his lit cigar and smoke. Truman thwarts his attempts and Burley angrily leaves with a sworn vendetta.

As police arrive, Gother and Truman are cornered by Captain John Meredith, who is clearing the museum. As they leave, Burley is yelling about someone stealing his reporter’s pass and demanding entrance. They slip back to The Monitor and rock the newspaper with a headline story.

Gother arrives late to his desk to find an urgent message from Mark Truman. He rushes to the Art Gallery’s Grand Opening where Truman is anxiously waiting at the entrance. During opening ceremonies, calamity strikes Stoney Brighton and chaos ensues.

In her continued flashback, Alexa finds the black limo from the shakedown, engineered by the American Ambassador to France, parked outside Legano’s Art Gallery. Their vehement argument reveals Stefan’s involvement in this nightmare. As Ambassador Waters leaves for the American Embassy, a disguised Silven steps in front of his limo… Alexa calls the shots.

Daniel convinces Mark Truman to go with him to the café and charm Alexa Silven out of her negative impression of him. When Mark enters the café, he and Alexa Silven are mutually thunderstruck! She offers another opportunity at an impromptu interview and photo shoot in her studio. Escaping the obvious attraction as the photo shoot progresses, Gother walks out to the balcony and notices something shining in the courtyard below. He retrieves a highly damaged laptop, certain a story awaits him.

Stoney and Legano’s conflict increases as Stoney discovers Legano has Briana in his custody, angered that she failed in framing Silven. Stoney realizes he’s signed the wrong name onto one of their forged paintings. Their conflict is nearing resolution, Legano’s way.
