Brains + Beauty = Radio Gold!
I love when smart and funny people talk to me, which is why I've become addicted to podcasts. Well-produced, high -quality podcasts that are hosted by experts in their fields. Jessica Matlin of Cosmopolitan and Jennifer Goldstein of Marie Claire have created a show that hits all the right notes. I'm a female, but I'm not exactly a beauty fanatic, and yet....Fat Mascara is so entertaining that you don't necessarily have to be into the subject matter to be thoroughly transfixed--And I love that Jessica and Jennifer definitely don't take themselves (or the beauty industry) too seriously. At all! They're approachable, relatable, friendly and easy to listen to--very informal. Plus, it's educational: they dole out all kinds of practical, usable tips (Who knew you're supposed to "pat, not blend," your concealer?) And considering the insanely high prices of beauty products, their recommendations start with the Dove Beauty Bar, 97 cents. The best part: They've got so many funny, unbelievable and (very) personal stories about what it's like to be a beauty editor, some of which involve celebrities (but not in an annoying way). And the interviews they do with beauty industry experts are at once thoughtful and funny. Fat Mascara is a total delight! PS: I do love the podcast, but these gorgeous hosts have faces for TV! It's like shopping in Sephora with friends... Who know stuff. Not sure if they're really experts but they sound like it!Read full review »

I am pretty minimal when it comes to make up but even I found this informative and entertaining. The hosts work really well together. It is really fun. I am definitely trying a new mascara because of it.

When Friday gets here I know that Jess and Jenn will make it even better with the newest episode of Fat Mascara! I love their personalities and the way they interact with their guests. I look forward to the Raise A Wand segment--it might have been responsible for a purchase or two!
