I love this show. So important to be able to critically examine media, even folklore media. I hope this show comes back soon!

I really wanted to enjoy and learn from your podcast; however, I was so unnerved that you would push the Gardasil vaccine in your introduction that I struggled to understand why and struggled to move further into your retelling of folklore. The sacred woman body is a a contested human landscape...Read full review »

Wanted to like it. I'd been hoping for a podcast like this, discussing lore. One that delves into the origins of fairy tales is a bonus, fem lore?, Even better! What a disappointment. These are two ladies chit chatting about this stuff and barely scratching the surface. I assume the...Read full review »

Everything about this show is amazing from the fact that they pair a charity with every episode to the super realistic reactions to everything. I love how they’re super aware and check themselves when they find themselves running into their own biases. It’s really educational not only on...Read full review »

I miss Feminist Folklore very much. I am heartbroken that I can no longer access those episodes.

This is my absolute favorite podcast. The way they delve into the story and its history is fantastic. You can tell that they are well versed feminists who have done their research. The combination of storytelling and analysis is so thoughtful. Femlore has inspired my past two years of art making....Read full review »

Milan is NOT TRANS!!!! She dressed as a man. That doesn’t mean she wanted to be a man. I made it through a few episodes, then quit. They changed their name but it didn’t help. I didn’t even know they ended.

To be a feminist is to have such a level of self loathing, that they claim that they are empowering women by belittling their natural strengths and roles they have always fulfilled since the beginning of time. This is absolute proof of self hatred. Then these women are dead set on behaving and...Read full review »

This is a delightful show that takes a woman's view of folklore and narrative, whether in your favorit Disney film or the wild world of folktales and more. Rachael and Mindey are fantastic hosts, and the content is both nerdy and informative. Plus, you'll probably laugh a few times! :D...Read full review »

Great listening! Love having discussions on these stories that we all grow up with.

I absolutely love this podcast. Rachel and Mindy are just so amazing at breaking down stories, songs, and other tales we thought we knew, and looking at them through a modern, feminist perspective. The way they make not only the characters and stories but also themselves relatable, makes me feel...Read full review »

Such a fun podcast! So glad I found it. Feminist Folklore challenges me to think about the standards I put on myself and others. It also helps me realize how much of this was taught through stories and media from such a young age and that I can help change that narrative moving forward.

This podcast is not inclusive to all genders. Feminism is about all genders having equality, not just one.

I like that meaning and assumptions are explored in fairytales. Interesting stories are told each week. Too bad it ended.

So sad to see this Podcast end. Really loved listening to 2 intelligent women talk about the nature and impact of “stories”. Hope you can both find a way to do something similar in the future.

As someone very interested in folklore in theoretical ways and the discussions that come up from the stories I find this fascinating and I strongly recommend. When I found it it was so excited about it.

The thing that I really love about this podcast is that, since the first episode I listened to (made in November), it has gotten a lot better. I want to love this podcast. Or at least like this podcast. But the talkers (hosts is a bridge too far) want to talk about women and the truth of abuse in stories, fairy tales, myths, etc. But they lack any critical thinking about anything else! And their research skills don't go beyond the...Read full review »

Fun show! Sometimes the casual nature of it gets in the way of their topics of discussion, like two friends who go off on tangents a little too often. But I appreciate learning about the fairytales that were read to me as a child through a modern feminist lens.

Thank you for making such a wonderful podcast I didn’t know I needed to remedy the BS I believed as a young girl that seeped hard and fast into my adult psyche. I’m a huge myth, legend, and folklore buff—but I’m often thirsty for some acknowledgement of the inherent male-centricity of most enduring stories. As a fan of fairytales, folktales, and mythology, I am thoroughly enjoying listening to Feminist Folklore. Hi there! I’m not very far in. It’s taking me a longtime to get through the episodes because I, unfortunately, find the banter off putting. Great podcast. Love the stories, love the insight. Sometimes I get put-off by the slightly too-dramatic reading of the story itself, but it’s probably just my personal preference. These ladies are funny and I love the discussion they have.

I’ve been listening for the past few days to get through finals week and I’ve really enjoyed this so far.
