“Scarlett is clearly very bright and well-read and passionate and lovely. No doubt. I wish I didn’t find her annoying to listen to but I do. She uses so many superlatives - every guest is “the most amazing person” etc and after a while it sounds really sycophantic and disingenuous. When the guests are talking about their experiences, rather than responding to what they have said with empathy and curiosity she doesn’t respond at all to them, instead talking about herself, which feels awkward. That said, at 23 I might well have done the same and certainly hadn’t achieved all the things she has!”
