But in the past few decades, there is an ever-increasing number of people choosing to go vegan, vegetarian or plant-based whether it be for religion, animal welfare, environmental & sustainability or health-related reasons. A common question we are asked here at The Dietologist is: A vegan or vegetarian diet helpful or harmful when it comes to fertility health? In this episode, I break down the pros and cons of vegan & vegetarian diets and how they can impact fertility. We'll chat about all the ways these diets champion the one group of foods most of us could absolutely be eating more of, plants! But, clinically, we also see a lot of downsides too, nutrient gaps, gut symptoms and IBS and more.
