Leon does a great job of diving into the details of the Florida recount and recreating the tension of those 36 days.
My only criticism would be that a larger macro view of the race would be interesting, as I still struggle to understand how this election was close given the fundamentals of the race being in Gore’s favour (the economy, peace, etc.). There is a lot of debate around whether Gore should have distanced himself quite so much from Clinton, given that despite impeachment he still had high favourability.”
