An Enriching Discovery
I first experienced Katey, David and Patches' engaging ramblings while waiting for the press screening of 'Life of Pi' at the 2012 NYFF, and wasn't totally surprised when I discovered they did a podcast together. Since then I've enjoyed hearing the personalities clash in ways that make me wonderfully confused as to who I agree with most, wondering whether David or Patches is the more sensible one (and being fascinated by their opinions regardless), appreciating Katey's positive lack of vitriol for even the most disposable films, and deeply appreciating Da7e's opinion for not being entrenched in the film criticism circuit. Everybody brings something to the table that's vibrant, enjoyable, and makes it not only a fun listen, but a challenging and thought-provoking one. It's a podcast that will continue to inspire me, whether I continue on with film criticism or seeking out contributing to filmmaking.Read full review »
