What a disappointment
I really wanted to like this. I almost stopped after the second episode but wanted to give it a chance. Well, I've given up. Unfortunately, in this case, Kevin Smith's humor and talkative nature get in the way. Literally half of the hour-long episodes involve Kevin introducing everyone and making crass jokes. There are literally maybe two or three questions actually asked and answered by Kevin by the end. And I use the term 'answered' loosely. He ends up rambling on and on, repeating himself over and over to answer straight forward questions. Follow your dreams, do what you want, blah, blah, blah. There is no real content here. No insider info or how-to tips on breaking into any aspect of the business.

More reviews of Film School Fridays
It's funny, interesting, and you may not learn the technicalities of the craft, but it's talking shop with an experienced and extremely candid filmmaker... What more do you want, it's free!!! I've paid more for a lot less... And the intro music always gets me ready to dance...

Thanks to Kevin Smith us filmmakers finally have an interesting podcast dedicated to the art of film that is actually entertaining. I loved the Red State series of podcasts and this one is proving to be just as good!

As a UK Film School graduate I find this both interesting and informative. Never heard of Avid until this pod. Always used FCP. Will see what all the fuss is about.
