Do the Right Thing
My whole life, the film that means the most to me has been something like Transformers the Movie or Star Wars. Then, during the first summer of COVID, I watched Do the Right Thing for the first time. I have a theory that every movie set during a heatwave is good, and this only helped prove the theory. Beyond being a unique and affecting film, DTRT has such a sense of place and immersion in a community that it really highlights how much you need people. At a time when this was briefly possible mid-pandemic, I was still too scared to get close. Then, as the credits rolled, a procession of cars drove very slowly past my flat, beeping horns and playing music. It went on for about 20 minutes, which would have been annoying any other time. Thanks to Spike Lee, I opened my window and leaned out, taking it all in and enjoying community vicariously as the warm night air blew in. Heatwave, y'see.Read full review »

If you like films, and people taking about films in a sometimes amusing manner, this is a very filmy podcast. For me it’s a 5 star jobby, and you can take that to the cinema! PS. More nerdy/ interesting facts about the films please 👍
