“This podcast is at its best when it recommends older films. However, the reviewers can be pedantic and self absorbed when pontificating on new releases. This is particularly annoying when it comes to reviews of genre films, weird fiction, steam punk, or anything comic book based. The lack of distinction between a “film” and a pop culture movie is part of the problem. If it’s the utterly dull and pretentious Meeks Gap the film gets a good review. If it’s MCU count on getting the sad puppy treatment.”
