Season 3 is treating me kindly so far. Narration sounds tighter and the experience is showing. Content seems packed on given topic. I’m excited to keep listening about Canadian folk lore, as I have little exposure to it in my day to day.

I can’t say enough great things about this podcast. David Williams has one of those soothing storytelling voices that makes you want to listen to the episodes over and over. So well written, the atmosphere is immersive and the stories draw you in. I just wish I had a campfire to sit by while I...Read full review »

If, like me, you’re tired of podcasts by self-proclaimed folklore experts that give you only the bare minimum telling of the tale with enough dramatic effect to cover their lack of real research then this is the podcast for you. This podcast is well written, well narrated, and most importantly...Read full review »

Love the show, very well researched and great storyteller Wish the narrator would allow the listeners imagination to go a bit and not “debunk” things so often. -Big fan from Ottawa.

I like the combination of story telling and research. It’s nice to explore the history and realities behind the lore while still enjoying the stories as part of our collective history. Also just a quick note, I’m a Canadian from British Columbia, like David Williams who makes this podcast, and I...Read full review »

I like this but the narrator does not use Canadian prononciation for words like “fertile” or lieutenant when speaking. It should be a Canadian telling these Canadian stories I think.

Super informative and engaging podcasts that shares so many different bits of Canadian history and important people. I love the more organized format and how it’s sectioned out!

a fascinating podcast that first tells you a tale from canadian folklore, then gives you the wider historical and cultural context, thoroughly researched and expertly conveyed

This podcast does its research and brings the listener a more well-rounded and deep story compared to the narratives that get tossed around in most legends and tales. Have really appreciated not only being entertained, but learning so much more about familiar and unfamiliar stories alike. Excited...Read full review »

There are a lot of lore and folktale podcasts out there to choose from, but this is the first I’ve heard that was exclusively Canadian. And I’ve never heard anyone discuss La Chasse-Galerie before. It’s refreshing, insightful, and draws on every corner of lore in Canada, not just a singular...Read full review »

I don’t need to listen to a podcast that has conservative ads during an election. Plenty of other similar podcasts to listen. And yes, I realize this is not an airport.

I was excited to find this podcast but the first episode I tried listening to started out with a negative campaigning ad from the Conservative party. I only listened to 1 episode and so far the stories seam pretty good, I enjoy the atmospheric soundscape in the background and the other sound effects that really engage you in the story. These spooky tales will captivate you. A touch of eerie sound effects, haunting stories, elements of audio drama. It’s all there. Plus, I am in no way familiar with Canadian folklore, so all these stories are brand new to me. Perfect for anyone who’s craving some new legends and stories.
