“Why surprising? Because I'm a guy, and this show came up in search results for something else. Guys tend to listen to other guys, as primitive as that sounds. However, as the title of the episode looked good, I gave it a try. And I'm glad I did.
The episodes are relatively short but packed with up-to-date info, and there's minimal faffing around with intros, or having 'cute' chat between the host and guests that often gets in the way of learning. This combo of short running-time with lots of ground covered is refreshing.
I also commend the choice of topics themselves. Rather than a copy and paste of rival shows, the creator comes up with ideas that pose interesting questions and then get them answered.
I have considerable experience in fitness, general health, and nutrition, making it harder to find something new. My background includes a degree in sport science, having the first NSCA CSCS and CPT qualification in the UK (and even early for the US), and I wrote a NYT best-selling diet book. I must have read beyond 25,000 full research papers. In real terms, I don't need much more education, but this is a nicely done podcast. It's easy to recommend, beginner or bored expert alike.
Shannon, good job.”Read full review »

“I like the fact that she uses a combination of science and anatomy to explain exercise routines. Be wary of Instagrammers and other people on social media who don’t have a good grounding in physiology. Anyone can record a video and upload it to social media but Shannon actually goes through the...”Read full review »
