Sane analysis without taking sides but increasingly irrelevant?
This is one of the best US politics podcasts. Sadly, that’s damning with faint praise. By being based on data-driven insights, FiveThirtyEight has and will continue to suffer from the same problems that beset modern-day polling and which have made their results increasingly unreliable. The podcast tries to compensate for this by fielding a team of political reporters to delve into party politics, but, like ostriches sticking their heads in the sand, they just do not grasp the existential crisis their republic faces. One episode used to contains more common sense than a dozen if its rivals. I’m not sure that’s true anymore. It’s time they showed some backbone.
