It’s so well done. Heartbreaking and enlightening

I was a child when the events detailed in this podcast occurred, so hearing it all from the beginning has been very enlightening. It’s very obvious that a lot of work went into researching and preparing this podcast. It’s awesome to me that it’s narrated by a local reporter (Amanda Lamb). The...Read full review »

This podcast is well researched and very well presented. Another ghastly wrongful conviction.

I’ve listened to all 10 episodes of this podcast. Episodes 1 and 2 are “just the facts” and nothing new if you followed this case when it unfolded in the 90s. Episode 3, it gets somewhat “woke.” The Robeson County Sheriff is portrayed a bumbling, racist, Buford T. Justice type of small town...Read full review »

Another interesting topic totally politicized. Somehow a man who at the very least was complicit in a murder (he admits this) is lionized and made to look like the good guy. Fawned over by the host. No evidence is given refuting the state’s case other than “I didn’t do it”.

With themes of social justice, racism, corruption, and celebrity, there are so many reasons to want to listen to this podcast. Perhaps the #1 reason is the thorough, thoughtful, kindness and love that reporter Amanda Lamb, Exec. Producer Shelly Leslie and the entire WRAL team puts behind each and...Read full review »

I guess if you grew up in the area it could be if some interest but there’s just not a hook in the first two episodes. It seems like the usual sympathetic voice for criminals, and to be frank, I’m just tired of hearing that narrative. I would have been more interested if they just got more to...Read full review »

This is the first podcast I have ever listened to. Heard it advertised on the local radio station in Wilmington and decided to give it a try. The series is amazing. Amanda is a true journalist. Able to paint a picture with her voice so you can visualize the surroundings at the time. This is a...Read full review »

I used to live in the Raleigh area and I would watch WRAL. Amanda Lamb was the most professional and polished reporter and she stood out and was always as good or better than a “big city” newscaster. That said - I started listening to this podcast and am Hooked! Also - Amanda has the Best voice...Read full review »

I grew up in Robeson and Scotland counties. I was home from college the summer of ‘93 when the murder occurred. Can’t wait for the next episode.

As a former tv photojournalist and producer who spent considerable time covering this story and trial I am highly impressed with this work. I commend Amanda and the Wral staff and would hope this helps open the door to finally providing justice in this very tragic case and death.

This is a great audio crime documentary. Really keeps you interested and easy to follow along with what’s going on in the story line. I think you all should do more of these, focusing on famous/controversial major crimes in North Carolina
