Thank You
I appreciate learning about Harriet and the history that we never hear. Recently, I’ve decided I need to learn more about our history. I found myself getting so angry at our so called founding fathers, particularly Thomas Jefferson, Adams, others. I’m so mad that we hold them in such high esteem. We need to be honest about our history and to stop touting these men as great. They’re not great. People who enslave people are evil. I say this as a white woman. I feel like there’s nothing we can do to repair damaged done to descendants of slaves, African American or descendants of Native Americans but denouncing the men that allowed atrocities and slavery to happen regardless of their place in white history would be a Fckn start.

I have leaned so much more about someone who was a legend and yet obscure individual in black history. This is a refreshing and engaging show with a great deal of depth and intricate explanations of a painful and tragic time of this nation. Thank you for creating this work.

This podcast focuses less on Harriet Tubman and more about slavery and women’s rights in general, which was not what I expected but is still something everyone needs to hear.
