Overcooked scallops and bad combinations
Just watched a few episodes of this "Food Guru" He's teaching some huge mistakes that can ruin very good and expensive food. For example, he had these nice looking scallops, seared them beautifully then told the view to cover and let simmer for 5 minutes! OMG, that will steam them and the scallops will be totally overcooked, all the juice will come out of the scallop and they'll turn rubbery. Then after this he makes a cream sauce with chocolate!!! and dumps it over the scallops. Seafood and chocolate!?! Chef Gordon Ramsay among others would tear into him and I would spit that out and have to wash my mouth out with plenty of water. I watched another scallop episode where he put them into a pan with loads of other ingredients and a huge amount of liquid then cover and simmer. Once again this will massively overcook those huge sea scallops and they'll turn out overcooked and rubbery. Yet another episode (Chicken Wellington) started out good, nice ingredients, then a huge amount of cheese (that's cool) then he added this huge glob of mayonaise! I can just imagine how overpowering the taste of the mayo would be, so much it would be near impossible to taste anything else. Unbelievable, couldn't eat anything for an hour or two after watching this.

I would have given it five stars, and the missing episodes is an annoyance that makes me knock the...Read full review »

I like the variety of food he makes, but he is constantly deep frying and adding cheese, oil and butter to everything! Some healthier recipes would be nice. Also, instead of 1/2 of the podcast being a recipe and 1/2 being a commercial for his cookbook / website, maybe he could spend a little...Read full review »

The sound quality is poor in some of the episodes and I find the music running in the background to be distracting.
