The City Bank Axe Murders – Part One
Listen now
Description
In this first episode of the new season devoted to Crimes That Shocked Australia, we look at the 1893 horror that became known across the colonies as ‘The Carcoar Tragedy’. Set against the backdrop of a forgotten economic catastrophe, this is the story of a young bank manager who’d already endured tragedy – only to find himself and his loved ones at the mercy of a bloodthirsty burglar. What made the case even more chilling was that it appeared to have been predicted by the killer’s fortune-telling celebrity wife. One more re-release before new episodes. This one originally came out in 2020, and, while it was supposed to be a two-parter, it became a trilogy – fittingly, given it's a bit like the Dark Knight. Parts two and three will be on general release this week, but are available now to Apple and...
