“The best radio shows and podcasts center on intelligent, thoughtful conversation. This American Life, Comic Book Guys, whatever the topic, it's the discourse, really, the ums and comments that prove these are not people reading from cue cards, but rather talking to each other. Fw:Thinking is like that, first of all. Real conversations between three intelligent people. Already that makes it a winner for me.
More than that, though, the topics of this podcast are fascinating in and of themselves. Each time we start with a bit of hard science, a concept that is in development or early stages of use, and then these guys take off, swapping potential uses for this technology, day-dreaming about how it could change our lives... this podcast captures the part of science that is so hard to really get to, when good, measured research meets dreaming and imagination. It's refreshing to hear speculation about the future that's not all doom and gloom.
