Just as essential as the Red forums
Given that Red is changing the foundations of every national film industry I'm staggered that no-one has reviewed such a thorough, entertaining and informative podcast. Each episode contains a balanced and thorough exploration of different aspects of the Red system that takes in the fundamentals of associated areas such as lenses, and colour gamuts. The podcast carefully straddles the divide between novice and expert. The presenters assumes a certain, small amount of knowledge on the listener's part but they have no fear of plunging into technical discussions and making those areas accessible to listeners. The programme carries you through to a detailed understanding that either equips and invites you to explore further or reinforces knowledge an experienced operator probably has but wouldn't complain to be reminded of. Jason Wingrove is a working commercials director who came up through the camera department and Mike Seymour is a VFX guy with a deep appreciation of the technical aspects so they offer complementary perspectives on some of the most important technical developments in modern cinema at a level that most of us can expect to work at.Read full review »

This is easily one of my favourite podcasts, with Mike and Jason both being uber knowledgable in the realm of digital cinematography.
