It has been 14 years to the day since a big moment changed my life forever. I reflect on the buildup to a difficult memory and the aftermath that followed. We have no idea when harsh obstacles will arise in our lives or where devastating blows will come from. I have lived my life knowing that at any time new challenges can come out of nowhere, so we have to embrace everything good we can get our hands on. We have no control of what happens to us; we only have control of how we respond. Adversity makes us all stronger if we're willing to not let it define us.
