Marketing idea for this wonderful GI PODCAST
I recently discovered this fun and informative podcast and came up with an idea of how it should be marketed in the future. I have practiced gastroenterology for the past 30 years and had the misfortune of being born 2 years too late to be grandfathered for my G.I. boards for life so I have been participating in the refreshing and invigorating exercise of recertifying my board credentials every decade. When I am apt to want some whine with my cheese I sometimes complain to anyone who will listen that I have either no time to exercise because of my clinical responsibilities and need to keep up with the voluminous medical literature, or alternatively, no time to read journals - because of the need to maintain my busy practice while trying to have at least a modicum of physically active leisure time outside of work. After discovering the podcast I had an epiphany which I wanted to share with the listeners. There is a “two for one“ benefit to anyone who wants to listen to your program. I experienced that for the first time today. This weekend we enjoyed the first nice weather day we’ve had central Virginia in months. I took advantage of the sunshine and grabbed my cell phone and earplugs and hiked the afternoon away along the trails of the James river park system in our lovely city. Hearing thecritiques of various studies sparked an idea that I thought the author might consider. He can the utility of the podcast to both the physical and intellectual health of his listeners. How about looking at board recertification scores and BMIs of practicing gastroenterologists who listen to the podcast while exercising as compared to their couch potato or Luddite colleagues? I would expect lower BMIs and higher board certification scores in the podcast/exercise group as compared to the controls. Or maybe do longitudinal studies in old dogs who learn these new tricks? Of course this is just a hypothesis, we will need data to prove it. Keep up the good work and thanks for what you do. Mike Farrell. M.D. Richmond VA

It very hard to review articles without making you fall asleep but the dry humor and narration can keep my attention. I am a functional medicine practitioner and this helps me to stay up to date. I recommend this podcast so you can give the best care.

Hey man. Excellent podcasts. Very concise thoughtful review. Only selfish request would be cover more papers. Strong work, thanks a lot.
