The true reward is the lessons we learn
To be honest, after about 7 episodes I had all but lost hope for Evan and was ready to declare him a lost cause. He was just too uptight, too prudish and stubborn. A stick in the mud wrapped in a wet blanket. His obstenance was starting to offend me on a personal level. Over just a few listens I went from my usual scowling into the distance to suddenly and loudly expressing my indignation, like an overzealous parent at a hockey game after the ref makes a bad call against his kid. Only, I wasn't at a hocky game, I was at the gym. And I was making people uncomfortable. Yet something compelled me to sally forth, whether it was Paul's knack for candid storytelling, Will's earnest desire for the perfect pick, Katie's enthusiam toward the more eclectic numbers, or the occasional cameo by producer-Mikey. There is an enjoyable chemisty and a solid representation of likeable characters that even Evan couldn't ruin. Before long, however, Evan's occasional moments of clarity, regular cheeky apologies, and surprising bouts of wry wit and charm were starting to challenge my initial conclusions. What was happening? Had I judged Evan prematurely? Was it I who was the monster all along? Could it be, that while Evan slowly allows himself to open his heart to Ween, we the listeners are silmultaneously opening our hearts to Evan? This podcast is a lot of things, it's funny and relatable, and a true celebration of Ween and friendship. But at its core, it's an exercise in patience, acceptance, tolerance and growth. Both for Evan toward Ween, and pretty much everybody else toward Evan.Read full review »

More reviews of God Ween Evan
I want to apologize in advance for the review to follow. This podcast is supposedly intended as a way for a drug mellowed school teacher and his cohorts to sway their friend Evan’s opinion of the great band Ween. How they go about that is counterproductive to the entire point, as they seem to...Read full review »

You jerks know less about movies than you do about Ween. Discraceful, uninformed and just plain stupid. Which is pretty much your wheelhouse. Oh, You do have great jokes though. *eye-roll I hope Porchester is ugly for each and everyone of you snotty sychophats and that you all wind up face down...Read full review »
