As 2023 ends, I take some time to look back at some things I learned this year. Some of these are more reminders than anything, but they stick out to me. Things I learned in 2023: -Never assume someone understands what you’re saying -Explore other sports (jumping, basketball) -You have to play golf with your students -Trying new things is rarely a bad idea (iI would rather try and know, than not try and wonder) -You cannot take care of your body enough (chiro, cold showers) -Padraig...

I don’t want to think when I’m hitting it good! These are the famous last words that I recently heard from a student. In today's episode, I tell a story about a student of mine who recently didn't want to take feedback on his golf swing because he was hitting it very well and he thought that he had solved the problem.   This is a trap we cannot fall into! On course GPS is becoming more and more sophisticated. This week I interviewed Eric, who is the creator of the Shot Pattern App. Shot Pattern is one of the most advanced GPS apps I have seen. It allows you to look at a golf course before you play it, but also use it actively while you're playing golf. It does a fantastic job illustrating start lines and when you couple that with the ability to see where your dispersions will land, or where your proximity till the whole around a green will end...

This week I talked about our post-shot routine. this topic came to me because I watched so many golfers react negatively to bad shots as soon as they make contact, and I believe they are missing a very important feedback opportunity. our post-shot routine should involve taking in the shot that we just hit whether it was good or bad, and trying to reverse engineer what we think went wrong and hopes of adjusting so the mistake doesn't repeat itself. I think this is something that all golfers...
