Insightful and entertaining
Growing up with the Grateful Dead in the house made me love them, but actually learning about them always seemed a bit overwhelming. I've read some books and watched the documentaries, but this podcast gives insight and context like no other Dead-related material I've seen has. My only memories of the dead are of their lives shows, and your podcast presents each song as part of a bigger picture, and helps me relate to them in a new way.Read full review »

Between listening to this podcast and purchasing the Annotated Lyrics, I have a new found respect for the depth of the Dead’s art. Once a casual listener, I now listen for the nuggets pointed out in these two reference sources. And Hunter is the secret weapon!
