Very to the point, respectful and well told. I used to listen to a US pod about disasters but it became more and more a self indulgent screed from the podcaster. As soon as I discovered this I unfollowed the other one and am following this one. Thank God for a dignified English accent!! Thanks...Read full review »

I just found this podcast recently. I’ve always been interested in history and particularly in the history of both natural and man made disasters which have affected our planet. This is by far the best podcast I’ve found on this topic. The narrator has great delivery, a very pleasing voice and...Read full review »

Outstanding talented podcaster doing ALL the work herself. Brilliant content. I hope she hasn’t given up.

Well-researched, thoughtfully presented recounting and analysis of tragedies — what happened, what went wrong, what then changed to hopefully prevent repeats — with a back catalogue you can dive into. I find the single host with a script format a refreshing break from the more jocular,...Read full review »

I just discovered Great Disasters podcasts a couple days ago but I’ve been enjoying them immensely. Kari does a wonderful job. I can’t believe she’s a one woman show! But she pulls it off and brings you stories that will grab your attention and make you want to play the next. Well done Kari!

Kari has an awesome, soothing voice and presents each subject matter with passion and respect for the victims. She is not preachy and does not try to shove a political / world view down your “ear hole”. She gives great information and details in each podcast! Thanks Kari!!

One of my favorite podcasts. Thank you for producing these.

Not sensational at all, Kari shows genuine respect for the dead, which is a big plus for me. Interesting, her descriptions perfectly strike the sweet spot of being technical enough for a layman to follow along without treating the listeners as idiots. The only real drawback is poor audio quality...Read full review »

Love your podcasts. They are very informative. My favorite is the one on the station nightclub fire and the 6 part series you did on 9/11. Keep up the good work.

I like a good story and this is exactly the kind of stuff I love listening to ... interesting stories with details beyond a Wikipedia article. And best of all, delivered without the hyperbole and “drama” that often accompany disaster podcasts. The stories themselves are the focus. I really love...Read full review »

Awesome awesome job on the 9/11 episodes. So much time must have gone into them. Just wish the podcast was weekly or bi weekly. Too good of a podcast for it to be every few months between eps

I’ve enjoyed this podcast for quite a while now. Kari Faye does an excellent job on every aspect of production and presentation. Her multi-part series on 9/11 was simply exquisite.

This podcast needs to be heard! I’ve been meaning to review it for some time, but now I must. I just listened to the series on 9/11… No where else have I heard the detail that Kari offers. She doesn’t shy away from truth; in ANY of her stories.
Ceely51863 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/12/21
Incredibly well researched. Even if you know the story that’s being told, Kari will doubtlessly share details you’ve never heard before. Recommend.

I just got through all 48 episodes. Ms. Fay strikes the right balance between telling what happened, especially from the point of view of those who were there, and explaining why it happened. She explains things in a way that is usually very understandable (I still don’t quite understand train...Read full review »
