What is it like to have Chronic Telogen Effluvium?  Tom Holmes describes his hair loss journey as a rollercoaster. After having cervical fusion surgery, he was left unable to eat or drink whilst in recovery and quickly lost 30lbs. He then began to lose his hair rapidly. He shares his story with us, his recovery and then further bouts of extreme shedding. He has correlated these episodes to periods of sudden weight loss. Every time he loses hair he finds it just as painful as the first. He was so self conscious that he wore hats everywhere, even to dinner out and to a  wedding!
