Can menopause cause hair loss? Tina Edwin, is married 51 year old Mum of two, lives in Kent. She is a marketing manager for Capital Space, with 9 Business Centres across Kent, Essex, Croydon & Milton Keynes. She shares her story of how after symptoms of perimenopause began at age 44, she began to experience problems with her hair. She first noticed a small bald spot on her crown that her husband pointed out, and the hair loss began to get worse. She went to the GP who diagnosed her with Alopecia Areata. She asked for a hospital referral and was told that they would not consider this until she had lost over 50% of her hair! After this, Tina had to seek her own solutions for help, trying different options, including researching HRT, which she claims had a noticeable improvement on her hair loss. Tina says that her alopecia made her feel embarrassed and ashamed, and shares her story in the hope that others ay find it helpful.
