Jamie is a legend in his own right, and this is reflected in his interview style; a little bit loose while improvising and searching for a groove. He allows his guests time to warm up and have in depth conversation. There will be a lot of references that are worth a quick pause and looking up for...Read full review »

The title is quite self-explainatory i guess :) Apart from being a long time Jamie’s fan this pod is (mostly) a nice balance between some tech talk (nitty) and life of a musician. More episodes plz!

Shame he interrupts them so much.

Amazing show, lively conversation with sound people from all corners. Nitty gritty sound design is beginner friendly starter that goes deep. The perfect way hide in from the day! Especially love the Heba Kadry episode (75)

I listen to a lot of music and music production podcasts and this one is one of my absolute favorites. It’s “insider-y” in the best possible sense as you get to hear the way producers and musicians really talk, think and work. In that sense, it occupies its own special niche in a crowded field of...Read full review »

So much amazing information, history lessons, and creative ideas in these interviews. Jamie is a great host and the guests are all industry heavyweights in their respective fields. Well done. A must listen for anyone into music production or the creative process. Thank you!

New to this podcast and about 20 episodes deep! So interesting to hear the show develop from the beginning. I've been eluded by the perfect source of information, inspiration and mental therapy until now! NITTY GRITTY is really creative and inspirational, and aside from that knowing Jamie has...Read full review »

Such amazing guests and loads to learn from Jamie and the people he interviews. He often leans into the pessimism though. In the Chromeo ep they end up dragging him out of a depressive tailspin in the final minutes! Minor gripe with an otherwise excellent pod.

I enjoy the nitties so much, amazing to hear Jamie experiment in the studio and talk you through the process in depth. Great chat too just an incredible podcast, thank you

Jamie is as passionate as he is charming, and his musical intellect know no bounds. If you are a music creator or have interest in hearing inside perspective from people that are really hustling to make it happen in the modern music industry (both vets and up and comers), this is for you. ...Read full review »

In my top five all time podcasts. Supposedly about audio and music production but actually about how to approach life and all art.

I tend to listen to this podcast while in the studio. I’ve been making a habit of carving a a portion of my studio time for “maintenance.” Weather it be organizing, re-patching or you know... the tedious un-fun stuff that can put a damper on the creative process. This podcast helps me through...Read full review »

There’s heaps of insight from the guests and host as well, and Jamie is clearly also getting a lot out of his interviews. Great chat. And the nitty segment at the start of each...Read full review »

Podcasts continue to serve as object lessons that interviewing is a skill that needs to be cultivated and honed. Jamie Lidell is a musical inspiration and gifted producer. But he’s a terrible interviewer. Thankfully the pod succeeds in spite of himself largely due to the deep bench of amazing...Read full review »

Jamie does flawless job of combining interviews with great artists, educational sound-design nerdism, alternative music culture, and hilarious witty banter. Fairly lengthy podcasts feel like they could be twice as long and I would still be engaged . Highly recommend !

This is what podcasts were made for. Jamie Lidell does a stellar job, giving us a bi-weekly peek into the music production process. If you're aspiring to be a music producer, this is a must-listen, but even if you just have a passing interest in music production, you will gain much from this...Read full review »

Awesome show with Jamie sharing his thoughts and feelings, experience, wisdom and love for music and sound. The nitty gritty is a wild dive into left field audio experimentation that is bound to inspire. Then there are the guests. A true gem of a podcast. Thanks for spreading the love Jamie.

What a great podcast. I’ve started re listening to old episodes as I patiently wait 2 weeks for each new episode. Insight into the lives and personalities of these incredible artists and producers is so valuable and inspiring. Wonderful stuff Jamie!!

The host of this show needs to let the guests speak. Ultimately, listeners are here for the guests, not to listen to the host rant about his own life/gear/network etc. The ratio of speaking to listening needs to change, as it’s a major drawback of this podcast. Great content, admirable guests,...Read full review »

Absolutely love this show and always look forward to new episodes! Only Critique I would mention is that I would love to hear more of the guests talking. Sometimes Jamie talks a good amount more than his guests.
