Great, entertaining insights, but Jamie, please:
This pod and its premise are great, although the name may be a little misleading. It’s more like “Hanging Out with Producers and DJs and Occasionally Engineers.” There’s so much to love about this podcast, but geez, Jamie, stop steamrolling your guests. Relatable side stories are a natural part of conversation, but yours are not only too frequent or long, but they are often at the expense of your guests just opening up to an interesting story, and your interjection turns into an off-the-rails interruption. You can hear the defeat in the guest, and their story gets lost. If you set them up for a story, listen (and let us listen) instead of taking the opportunity to tell your own story. And we want to hear your stories! Just not at the expense of your guests’ stories. Let them finish, then share your relatable story. “Yeah, I like to ramble” is becoming a tired excuse for regular interruption. Again, this is an awesome podcast, but sometimes the spotlight isn’t aimed quite right. Thanks for a great show.
