“Great interview with Barbara Loe Fisher! I remember reading her book, DPT A Shot In The Dark, way back in the 80s and clearly the history and politics of vaccination has been her life passion and purpose, as she is an encyclopedia of knowledge. We project so much onto our medical professionals, assuming that they are the only ones who can know anything and that they do know everything there is to know on this subject. But clearly, they are taught one side of the issue, by the pharmaceutical representatives who sell them the vaccines. What do they learn? That vaccines are the greatest thing that ever happened, make sure you give them on schedule, and encourage all your patients to get them. Meanwhile, they deny all the injuries that occur and play down the very real concerns of parents. They choose the studies that support their view, yet deny the hundreds of studies showing links to autism and other auto-immune and neurological disorders. And, anyone who questions, has a bad vaccine experience, or is well-read and informed (and yes,you can be well-read and informed without going to medical school) is ridiculed and discouraged from expressing an alternate view. So, thank you Dr. Nancy, for interviewing Barbara Loe Fisher and allowing her to share her depth of knowledge on this most important subject. Hopefully, it will encourage more people to come forward and share their knowledge and their experience. The science is sadly imperfect, never "in" as they say, and we never stop learning.
