“I often have trouble trusting reviews of romance novels on Amazon or other sites like "Good Reads" because it seems as though my tastes are so at odds with those readers. I found this podcast because I wanted a community that shamelessly enjoys smut with a healthy dose of intrigue, levity, intensity, quirky silliness, quality writing, complex characters, hot and heavy sexy times, AND dare I ask for a bit of originality as well??? Suffice it to say, after only a couple episodes, I trust Erin and Melody. They are aware of the tropes of romance and they demand these tropes be met, but also ask that the books go beyond those tropes to give reader that something more that makes romance so fun.
With seemingly effortless ease, these guys make me laugh out loud one moment and then moments later, they move me with their sensitivity, honesty and willingness to be vulnerable when talking about matters of the heart, mental health, consent and gender dynamics. And, of course, they talk about "all the sexy times" with such wild and silly glee, it's just so delightful.
