Way too many transgender, minority and politically driven commercials…. If I wanted to hear that nonsense I’d turn in the news…. Podcast in English commercials in Spanish, how does that make any sense?

I enjoyed most of the seasons, although I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this podcast to anyone. I feel like as the seasons went on this became less about uncovering new things and just about telling the story itself.

I’ve paid in Apple Podcasts and the iheart app and there is still a ridiculous amount of ads. So frustrating!!!

Binged every episode!! Can’t wait for more!

I was intrigued by the constant ads I heard about Season 4 and after listening to the whole season, there was zero progress made on the case. Such huge potential, but a tremendous disappointment. I’m afraid to listen to the other seasons.

I applaud the host’s commitment to investigating this case, but mow that the killer’s been found and convicted, her fixation on every bit of discrepancy in the killer’s statements are irrelevant and lots of unnecessary filler. The guy’s a liar and a killer and perversely enjoys fooling with...Read full review »

S1: great, very engaging, lots of investigating, etc. It even had lots updates and a conclusion! (Though I don’t agree with the podcaster that “someone else had to be involved”. I don’t think that’s necessarily true. But there was an end so there’s that.) S2: still good, engaging story, lots of...Read full review »

From Season 1 to Season 4 I have enjoyed binging on this podcast! However, I couldn’t help but become emotionally invested as the episodes rolled by. Catherine Townsend has really grown into the role of Seasoned Podcaster! I have to stop short of 5 stars as it, sadly is a dumping ground for...Read full review »

This podcast is halfway decent compared with others, but they should lose the music - particularly over unclear audio - and get rid of 50% of the ads, and certainly stop repeating the same ads throughout. I know they need to monetise the podcast, but have they never heard of killing the goose...Read full review »

Entertaining podcast to listen to. Catherine does a good job at narrating the events. However the commercials are enough to not continue to listen, in particular season 1&2. An observation, Catherine seems to do her best to paint the police as incompetent dolts and wonders why they’re not...Read full review »

I paid for a subscription and I got ads. None of the other shows in the subscription had them. I loved the show but kept pausing to learn if there was something wrong—not to mention having to fast forward through all the ads. Thus, I subtracted a star.

Too much speculation while crushing reputations. She again retells a story with no new information.

For such short episodes there are way too many long commercials. Very annoying.

This was one of the first podcasts I listened to, and I still love it. Leaves me wanting more. Catherine Townsend is an excellent host.

Imagine if you were part of a family effected by one of the stories this show gleefully portrays. Now imagine how hard it would be to listen to any other podcast when this show is advertised on all of them with the first words “In 2004 (name) was brutally murdered in a small town”. It’s really...Read full review »

why are there ads? I’m paying for a subscription and expect it to be commercial free. That’s why I gave 3 stars instead of 4.

A absolutely love the way the story is laid out and, being someone highly sensitive to certain sounds, find Catherine’s voice very nice to listen to. However the ads were excessive so I subscribed to avoid them. Yet, even though I’m a paid subscriber I’m still getting ads, just a reduced amount...Read full review »

The amazing style in Catherine’s podcast, you can’t help but care for the people involved. You are drawn in and captivated by her words and care deeply about the people and the outcome. I am sure I’m not alone in being thankful that Catherine kept on top of Rebekah’s case right to the end....Read full review »

Season one had investigating going on, but I just finished season two and she didn’t do anything new?? She just retold the story to us without actually trying to bring anything new to light.

This was a good podcast but the nicotine commercials are awful and repetitive. Pretty gross, I hope they get rid of those.

Am I hearing commercials if I’m a paying subscriber? Why are you advertising tobacco?? Ms Townsend has a clear ‘easy to listen to’ voice. Appreciate that! New Listener to this podcast, long-time listener to TCrime podcasts.

Just listened to session 4, how sad for Ebby and her loved ones 😢 As for the police investigation….. disgraceful. They all need sacking and the investigation started from scratch. I pray her mum and family will one day know the truth and justice will prevail 🙏🏼🥰

Podcast is done well but the clanging music sounds like pans banging in the background and makes it hard to be able to focus on what is being said.

S4- I’m not sure what the ‘investigation’ is here? Without access to any additional significant info it’s just telling the story again. Well-researched and presented. Narrator is very clear and concise. Another podcast that shines a light on the deaths of women that have never been properly solved. Now.. I used to love this show but after the 4th season I’m done. I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and I’m totally fine with ads. I get bills need to be paid but in this latest season it’s waaaaaay more than I can deal with. Seriously, it feels like 5 minutes of ads every 10 minutes.
