When Mitrice was at the police station and her mom was called, why did the mom say stupid things - but instead sounded concerned and drove to pick up her daughter? Why isn’t she held accountable for not doing that?! Her daughter could still be alive if she bothered.

I’m on the 4th episode and I am feeling like these girls went on in the first 3 episodes about how evil Chris is and how he’d knock them out without a second thought if they came at him wrong, etc. Then they chat with him and while I’m glad they are being true to the story, they do a 180 on how...Read full review »

Miss the old H&G where they focused on one case.

Terrible! If you listen to podcasts for the actual content don’t bother. 5 star reviews are only from individuals trying to fill dead air.

Great podcast, but for people listening at work on headphones, the bass in the background music drowns out the dialogue...my only complaint...great job

I’ve been a day one listener. Thank you for what you do. I always know when I listen to your podcast that you’re only going to give us facts and truth. Keep up the good work!

This is an oddly unsatisfying story. For so many “wow” angles in the case, the podcast is lazy and smug; odiously self congratulatory without substantiating accolades. The enormous number of ads is also really problematic and the way the host says Hell And Gone repeatedly like a woman’s name...Read full review »

I listen to and really like a lot of podcasts. But, once I listened to Culpable, I started almost only listening to Payne Lindsey’s podcasts. Great work; thank you to Payne and his grandmother. Hope to keep hearing her voice too!

I want to like this show… the subjects are great it’s well written, but I just can’t with the host. I just can’t do it, her voice, the cadence, her odd elocution is just awful. Just not able to listen without rolling my eyes.

Could tell the story in half the time. Too many other good storytellers out there now.

Love her voice and thorough investigation ... Would listen to another by this crew !! It’s important to research these cases so few have heard about and open up the conversation about the unknown ...

I’m a carpenter and listen to podcasts all the time. Definitely love true crime. Needed something new and good and got it!! Glad they caught that bastard and no doubt y’all kept the case alive and ongoing! Great job and great show! Thanks!

I listen of the ads!

This podcast is fantastic. The only issue is the ridiculous amount of advertising (10 or more ads per episode) which breaks the storyline up. This makes the story harder to follow and gets aggravating at times.

The number of times the host says "I think..." in a single episode is a perfectly clear indicator of the level of bias and lack of critical thinking possessed by the host. She clearly cozies up to law enforcement and seems intimidated by them. Have yet to hear any original, educated, or...Read full review »

Catherine and her ilk harass the families of the dead. If these family members will not go along with every decision they choose to make they turn their legions of true crime ghoulish fans upon them. And when a different perpetrator is determined to be the culprit, Catherine and her friends do...Read full review »

The content is interesting, but there are so many ad breaks, and they are all so insanely long. The ads made me quit and delete this podcast from my thread. Sorry.

love catherine, love the content, great research. I know podcasts need ads, but in hell & gone the ads are very long, 5 minutes just ads before it even starts plus a lot of ad breaks with long ads is too much. Was excited to find this podcast recently as I’ve caught up with all my other true crime podcast and was looking for a new one. Unfortunately there are far too many adverts. I’ve never seen a podcast with so many. It makes it hard to listed to.

Catherine is a great host with a lot of empathy on her cases. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I thought this was a worthwhile podcast because the police investigation sounds so inadequate. But when people started talking about Bill Clinton and all the bodies I was getting put off. That sort of conspiracy theory is just not believable.

I just listened to three episodes and I am baffled by this show. Every episode that I listen to has zero resolution, zero answers. So what is the point???!

Ive just started this podcast starting from season one. Its very interesting and goes into detail, however the music and sound affects are awful, very random and not needed

Great show great journalism absolutely ruined by the minutes of ads in the beginning and end and every five minutes in between. Yeah it’s good but not irreplaceable and definitely not worth the ads. Unfollowed

I like how Catherine delivers the cases. I don’t like the music while she’s talking. It’s distracting and terrible music. Maybe try one without it.

Catherine Townsend is a solid host, researches her stories well, discovers unfollowed leads and pulls in all sides to find truth.

Too much wondering and conjecture. Facts and not personal opinions might be more helpful. Not really interested in what the host “thinks” happened. Also the ads killed me. They are more than half the show. Byeeee

The amount of adds on this podcast are Beyond. I understand podcasts need adds but not the exact same, 5 minute adds, every 7 mins. It’s just way too much for what you get content wise.

Just listened to session 4, how sad for Ebby and her loved ones 😢 As for the police investigation….. disgraceful. They all need sacking and the investigation started from scratch. I pray her mum and family will one day know the truth and justice will prevail 🙏🏼🥰
