Sincerely, Catherine, the obvious passion you feel doing what you do, is clear in every episode. I have been transfixed by you and your team’s work, and truly appreciate the mastery you all bring to this podcast.

It takes so much for me to really enjoy and give my undivided attention to and well since the first episode I heard i’ve been addicted. I think I may just find other podcast you have did to get me through to new episodes. I would say Google can tell me others if any you’ve done. This podcast is...Read full review »

Catherine, I just recently discovered your pod cast and have so far listened to seasons 1-3. You and your team do such a great job and your voice, with its slight twinge of southern accent lend a tender touch to your accounts that draws me in. The attention to detail that you provide shines...Read full review »

This podcast is well done and well researched and everything like so many others. But this podcast does something that a few others do that I have found will cause me to turn it off instantly. to the producers of all podcast. I hope you are reading this. please stop playing sound effects over the...Read full review »

Interesting case, poorly executed podcast. So much wasted time playing “live” tape of the chase, which 9 times out of 10 resulted in nothing. Take out the filler and useless garbage and this series could be cut in half and wayyy more interesting. Found myself agitated half the time listening for...Read full review »

Some recordings are inaudible, losing the point of the conversation, and the story telling is often self serving. Has a lot of potential but doesn’t quite make it. The advertising is so invasive and persistent that I would swap to a paid model if the quality was better, but in its current form I...Read full review »

I enjoy this podcast, but I cannot listen to it like I prefer, which is to binge it because of the excessive amounts of ads & commercials. I understand people got to get paid & at least this allows us the opportunity to hear these cases, but you can’t listen while exercising or doing...Read full review »

This podcast has a decent true crime story. I don’t love how the podcaster tells the story though - seems like the podcaster makes it a lot about herself. You hear a lot of “I” and “me” in this podcast. Would prefer the podcaster not to tell the true crime story, not her story.

Like this podcast. Why do a lot of your ‘professional people’ say ‘you know ‘ a lot? I had to go forward several times just to stop hearing that. So annoying You know.

I always love this podcast and everything Catherine does, but the Jay Slater episode was extra excellent, important, and helpful. I updated my find my phone settings because of her suggestion and it was so easy to do based on her easy to follow directions.

I used to like this show but since they added background noise it drives me nuts.

It’s extremely distracting. Please adjust the levels so it’s not the focus of these episodes.

This season was just wasting time to me. It sounds like she had a mental breakdown and unfortunately succumbed to that episode. I’m not sure why anyone is trying to hold authorities accountable.
Motorboating101 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/14/24
I love Catherine’s approach to her cases and how she takes a much more ethical approach than many when exploring cases. I also appreciate how thorough and approachable her pod is, as well as the fact she most times covers cases that are lesser known and need more coverage.

Love the show but please lose the background music it’s so distracting to concentrate on the story.

The music and noises in the background are so distracting. I could not listen to the episode about Robert. I had to turn it off for mental health. I was literally feeling stress from the noise. I have tried to tune it out because I like your podcast so much, but it’s just way too distracting. I...Read full review »

Whoever decided to add background music when they’re talking should be FIRED! So annoying, does not even match the tone of the story. At one point there’s a clanking noise and I turned up my volume because I thought it was coming from outside but it’s in the story while they’re talking. Then the...Read full review »

No matter what others say whether good or bad. Opinions are relative. Not everyone is going to like you or your work. Never get discouraged. I am a listener and love your content. I think you do a great job! I may be partial also, I lived in Arkansas for many years and went to UAMS! ☺️

I feel like some cases go on forever, but then some of the really interesting ones are short and feel like they weren’t researched as well. And for crying out loud, the word is vigilance not “viligence” as she says in the ad that is repeated in every episode.

When Mitrice was at the police station and her mom was called, why did the mom say stupid things - but instead sounded concerned and drove to pick up her daughter? Why isn’t she held accountable for not doing that?! Her daughter could still be alive if she bothered.

I’m on the 4th episode and I am feeling like these girls went on in the first 3 episodes about how evil Chris is and how he’d knock them out without a second thought if they came at him wrong, etc. Then they chat with him and while I’m glad they are being true to the story, they do a 180 on how...Read full review »

Terrible! If you listen to podcasts for the actual content don’t bother. 5 star reviews are only from individuals trying to fill dead air.

Great podcast, but for people listening at work on headphones, the bass in the background music drowns out the dialogue...my only complaint...great job

This is an oddly unsatisfying story. For so many “wow” angles in the case, the podcast is lazy and smug; odiously self congratulatory without substantiating accolades. The enormous number of ads is also really problematic and the way the host says Hell And Gone repeatedly like a woman’s name...Read full review »

I listen to and really like a lot of podcasts. But, once I listened to Culpable, I started almost only listening to Payne Lindsey’s podcasts. Great work; thank you to Payne and his grandmother. Hope to keep hearing her voice too!

I want to like this show… the subjects are great it’s well written, but I just can’t with the host. I just can’t do it, her voice, the cadence, her odd elocution is just awful. Just not able to listen without rolling my eyes.

I listen of the ads!
Samantha Wynn via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/29/24
This podcast is fantastic. The only issue is the ridiculous amount of advertising (10 or more ads per episode) which breaks the storyline up. This makes the story harder to follow and gets aggravating at times.

The number of times the host says "I think..." in a single episode is a perfectly clear indicator of the level of bias and lack of critical thinking possessed by the host. She clearly cozies up to law enforcement and seems intimidated by them. Have yet to hear any original, educated, or...Read full review »

love catherine, love the content, great research. Was excited to find this podcast recently as I’ve caught up with all my other true crime podcast and was looking for a new one. Unfortunately there are far too many adverts. I’ve never seen a podcast with so many. It makes it hard to listed to.

I thought this was a worthwhile podcast because the police investigation sounds so inadequate. But when people started talking about Bill Clinton and all the bodies I was getting put off. That sort of conspiracy theory is just not believable.
